Decorator vs. Designer

Hi All!

I am so excited to have started this page. There is a lot that I want to share, and I have a lot of dreams for where this can go. In order to do so, I need to start by clarifying what it is that I do.

I am an interior decorator, often mistaken with an interior designer. I look at the space in front of me and find decor pieces that will help make the space look more aesthetically pleasing. I do not choose new flooring, new tile, new floor plans. I do choose new colors, new wall decor, new pillows.

My passion for decorating started growing up. I would constantly change my room around; move my bed from one spot to another, change the color scheme, add photos, take them down, and add new ones. It was something to do when I was bored. It was a fresh look into something that started feeling stale. It changed from boredom to a hobby to a NEED for me as I grew up. I'd get to the point where something had to change or I was on edge.

In high school, it was a priority to be ready for my future home. I invested into an inventory of dressers, pictures, mirrors, and pillows that I stored in my parent's basement. I couldn't wait to move out and have a place to myself!

And now, that dream is a reality. I have my own home! I am able to do what I please; I can paint how I want, decorate how I want, and rearrange as much as I want (as long as my husband doesn't mind)!

My house gives me the ability to express my decorating skills everyday. I have also been able to branch out and grow this hobby of mine into a business.

I have helped decorate several houses, apartments, and even dorm rooms. It is amazing and I am so thankful to be able to do the thing I love so much, and to make my dream job turn into a reality.
